I probably should have posted this, but I've moved to Scotland to begin a tenure-track Lectureship at the University of Dundee. Angie and Dakota will be joining me next month after things are properly set up. More soon. I'd really like to update this site to WordPress or something similar that's a little easier to maintain. :-)

We can see one of her bottom central incisors just peaking through. Yay!
Oh, and did we mention that Dakota just loves carrots? Alright, solid food, here we come!
Going to Start Updating the Site Again

Hi, everyone, and happy new year!
I see that it's been quite some time since we've updated the site. (On a related note, we're way behind in mailing out our Christmas/holiday/new year's cards, but we'll get there soon!) We're starting to catch up on life, and we hope to start updating the website with Dakota pictures in the near future.
In the meantime, here's a quick update of life 'round here. Angie's work continues to go well. She just have a performance evaluation that went well, and there are plans at Stanford to give her more litigation work, which is fantastic.
Dakota is doing quite well. We had about a month where her acid reflux increased, making eating much less comfortable for her. She went from eating more than 30 ounces a day in nice, big 6 oz bottles to barely 20-24 ounces a day, and her weight plateaued at around 17 pounds. We worked with her pediatrician and finally determined that she needed an increase in her reflux medication dose. Since then, she's doing much better, and she's nearly up to 18 pounds! On a related note, she's showing more teething symptoms, so we may well see a first tooth in the next few weeks! She's getting very strong (especially after getting a nice jumper from Santa), and she's started to pull herself up from sitting to standing with our help.
I'm doing okay. We're just about ready to submit a bit NIH R01 grant proposal on patient-specific, multiscale breast cancer modeling, and I feel very good about it. I've learned a lot about navigating multi-institutional bureaucracy, which is actually good for me as a developing member. I'm writing a couple of book chapters now, too: one is a chapter I was invited to contribute to a Springer book, and the other is for a book we're publishing with Cambridge University Press. I hope to whip out a few publications in the coming months as well, so scientifically, all is good.
Well, that's us in a nutshell. More to come soon, I hope. -- Paul

After 14 days without power, it has finally been restored. I'll have the postmortem later. For now, the work begins on cleaning up, getting the isolated specks of mold out of the freezer, etc. But so far, so good, and we can finally come home again!
